Welcome back to term, 4. A big welcome to five new families and six students who have joined the Richmond community.

The term kicked off for staff yesterday. During the professional development day they were busy completing their review of student data, planning for term 4 key events, developing a reconciliation action plan and meeting in their phase of learning teams.

I would like to welcome Lloyd Tifflin (Acting deputy for 5 weeks) and Jennifer Lilley (Acting MCS for term 4) to the administration team.  A big thanks to Craig Barker for backfilling Lloyd in room 13 during his appointment.

Term 4 is one of the busiest.  Here is a quick reminder of some of the highlights coming up:

DET swimming lessons at Fremantle pool will commence for year 4 -6 students tomorrow. They will be running for two weeks. Please ensure that your child has labelled all their items (Towel, bathers and thongs).

The interschool athletics carnival will be held on Wednesday 27th October (Please note the date & venue change). Mr Thorogood is busy finalising the team. Those year 3-6 students who have been selected in the team will be receiving a note shortly. All spectators are welcome. This year’s event will take place at Bateman Primary School.

The P&C is planning a student disco, October 29th; a big breakfast, November 5th; a community sundowner, November 12th and a move night, November 27th.

We are running a bike-ed program for year 4 students.  In-term swimming begins for years 1-3 on November 8th.

We have three assemblies scheduled for the term:

Our year 6 cohort, November 5th; Year 5 IMMS (Instrumental music), December 3rd and our final assembly, December 15th.
