Just a quick update about the athletics carnival tomorrow at Gil Fraser Reserve in North Fremantle.
Thanks for returning the permission slip and booking a seat on the bus if your child requires it. Please could you email us asap if you still require a seat and haven’t booked one as buses are pretty much sorted out and we don’t want to miss anyone. There’s no program at school tomorrow – everyone will be at the sports field.
Children should wear their house shirt and are welcome to wear colours – ribbons, face paint etc – and they must wear their shoes. They should know which events they are in; the program is here: Athletics program.
Happily, parents can have the day off from packing recess and lunch tomorrow. The year 6 parents will be running food and drink stalls with the proceeds going towards the upcoming Year 6 graduation.
Here’s their communication: The bake stall will sell delicious home-made sausage rolls, fresh sandwiches, pulled pork rolls, quiches, caramel slice, cakes, cookies, cupcakes, bliss balls, jelly cups, lolly bags, icy poles and more.
The coffee stall will be well-staffed and running from 9am and the BBQ will be on for the sausage sizzle.
Cash is preferred please but there will be limited Eftpos facilities.
We would appreciate any support on the day from students and spectators. Previous years indicate the kids look forward to wandering over to the stalls to choose lunch and morning tea with their friends between races!
The weather report says rain will develop later in the day, so we are hoping for a mostly fine carnival between 9.00am and 2.00pm. We will save the medal ceremony for school – this Friday morning at 9.00am.
In other news, very well done to the Richmond’s got Talent winners – Sierra (upper); Cara (middle) and William (junior). The whole performance was hugely entertaining! Thanks so much to everyone who came along to watch. We will present RGT medals this Friday morning at 9.00am too.
Finally, also on Friday, at 10.30am, we’ll be participating in the Great Vegie Crunch to promote healthy eating. Please could children bring along some fresh vegetables to eat with everyone in the quad on that day.
Please call us today with any final queries, or to let us know if your child is unable to compete, so that we have time to shuffle teams today as we will be flat out in the morning!
Have a great day tomorrow!
