16th December

It seems very fitting that we finish our centenary year with the mounting of the centenary mosaic. Many of you would have noticed this yesterday as you entered the school from the Windsor Road entrance.  Miss Scott has dazzled us once again with her artistic prowess. The mosaic is an amazing representation of our school logo and contains the name of every family as well each staff member. It is very fitting that this stunning piece marks the end of 100 years at Richmond PS. Thank you Miss Scott and to all the students at Richmond PS for 12 months of hard work.

Once again, thank you to our community for your strong support this year.

I very much appreciate our happy students and our amazing staff.

I would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a relaxing holiday surrounded by family and friends. Be safe over the break and we will see you in all 2022.

Students return to school on Monday 31st January.

As you are aware our scheduled Term 4 2021 In term swimming lessons could not be delivered as planned. We understand that learning to swim and to be safe around water is important for your child, so I am very pleased to advise you that the Department of Education is offering you a voucher for VacSwim or a refund in acknowledgment of the interruption to In term swimming lessons.  Please click here for the voucher. If you wish to take advantage of this offer, please email vacswim@education.wa.edu.au  no later than 10.00am on Tuesday 21 December 2021.

You will need to include “Term 4 In term swimming – lessons cancelled” in the subject line, attach the voucher, and include your family name and preferred contact number in the email.

Science Club – Year 5&6

It has been an exciting semester for the year 5&6 cohort with the inaugural Science Club. A lot of thought and consideration has gone in to planning interesting topics for the children.

Thanks must go to the contributors for the four sessions held so far- Jodi King (Embryology), Anita Martino (DNA extractions), Stuart King (Geology) and Holly Knight (Environmental Engineering). It has been my absolute pleasure to finally be able to host something like this, which has been a few years in the making. If you’re working in the STEM fields, please contact me about presenting at science club in the new school year. I am especially interested in anyone working as a marine biologist or forensic scientist.

Thank you, Silvia Piviali (  silvia79@tpg.com.au )
