Current year 5 parents may wish to consider applying for year 7 (2023) gifted and talented programs offered by the Department of Education. The selection process starts when students are in year 5, testing in year 6, with placement starting from year 7. A variety of programs are offered across several secondary schools including JCCA. Mrs Sorrell is once again coordinating the Festive Foodbank Drive. Foodbank helps to fight hunger for people in need especially at Christmas. Student donations are collected from their classroom each day. Please ensure your donations are non-perishable pantry items.  Foodbank have provided us with the top 10 suggestions: UHT custard, Christmas puddings/mince pies, tinned meats/hams, spreads (jam/vegemite/honey), breakfast bars, coffee, canned fish, canned fruit, gravy sauce/powders and Christmas crackers.  We will start collection on Monday 22nd November (Week 7) with the final school pick on Friday 10th Dec (Week 9). This Friday the 19th we are celebrating Australian Music T-shirt Day raising funds for all those connected with Australian Music including their families that have done it tough during COVID. For more information  https://www.ausmusictshirtday.org.au/ The teachers have been having fun for the last few years by wearing their music t-shirts, the year sixes joined in last year, so this year we have decided it would be great for all our students to join in if they would like to. Students are welcome to wear their favourite AUS music t-shirt for a gold coin donation. Students can wear a t-shirt they already have or borrowed, design their own t-shirt logo or simply print out a picture of their favourite Australian musician/bands/ artists and pin it to their t-shirt. Miss Gaskin will be retiring at the end of this term.  She has worked at Richmond Primary School for over 49 years and we would like to hear from the many students, parents & teachers past and present that she has worked with. Please contribute any messages, memories, stories or anecdotes that you may have. Personal items lists (student stationery & book requirements)  for 2022 are now available online (Click here). Our supplier is Ziggies Educational Supplies. Parents can choose from Ziggies pickup, home delivery or click & collect from the Ziggies Canning Vale store. The password and codes needed to complete your order are listed on our website here.

  • Please be aware that there are four DET VacSwim programs running over the summer holidays, and enrolments begin to close very soon. The VacSwim sessions are in addition to the current in-term swimming program. There are over 180 VacSwim locations around Western Australia, so wherever families are spending these summer holidays, there will be lessons near them.
