23 February 2021 from the P&C

On behalf of the P&C,  we would like to wish everyone a warm welcome back to school and an extended welcome to all our new families who have joined this year.

We have an exciting year ahead celebrating Richmond’s centenary, and as many of you are aware we are holding our Centenary Fair on Saturday 20th March. This will be a fabulous community event, engaging old and new students, with numerous stalls selling home made goods / plants / jewellery / books / tombola, plus funfair rides, a dunk tank, an animal farm, food trucks, bands, a DJ, a bar and much more! We hope you are all able to come and make it wonderful family day out, whilst also raising valuable funds for the school.

Parent volunteers needed

The fair has been a year in the making, and is an entirely school-run event. For us to be able to host the event, we are seeking as many parent volunteers as possible to help run stalls, act as ushers, setting up and clean up. We are asking, if you are at all able, to donate one hour of your time during the event, which runs between 2.00pm – 8.00pm on the school grounds. Please let your class parent rep know your availability, so they can start collating the roster. The kids can help too, and they will love to be involved, so please sign up!

Raffle donations

We are now collecting donations for a raffle to be held on the day. There are baskets in classrooms for each year group, for donations. These do not have to be large gifts, as we will make up hampers of combination of items to raffle. Each year group has a theme – please see below for ideas! Please drop off or send in with your child before March 12th, for teachers to start collecting.

Wine Fundraiser- the good bit!

Lastly, and this is a treat for all of us busy parents, juggling our day to day worlds. While you are baking, making, creating, donating, why not have a sip of a cool chardonnay or rose whilst also donating to the fundraiser!

In the lead up to the fair, we have partnered with Wise Wine, a 5 Star James Halliday rated winery and distillery. Wise will donate 20% of all sales to Richmond Primary School P&C. The wines are discounted 20% from the cellar door price and delivery is FREE Australia wide via Australia Post. If 12 bottles is too much we suggest getting together with your friends and share a case, you can pick any combination of wines and gin to make up the 12 bottles.  Click on the link below to start your order.
