25th October 2021

25th October

Congratulations to Eli H, Gray J, Sofia L, Abby B and Toby S who were recently ‘highly commended’ in the recent Tim Winton Awards for Young Writers. We had a total of 6 Richmond students, including Winifred, acknowledged in the 2021 awards. Very impressive!

Good luck to our squad of 59 year 3-6 students who will be representing Richmond Primary School on Wednesday 27th October at the MSDISSA Interschool Athletics carnival (B Division). The carnival will be held at Bateman Primary School starting at 9.00 am. Spectators are most welcome! A big thank you to Mr Thorogood and Mr Tifflin who have been very busy training our team.

All parents are invited to attend the P&C meeting in the school library tomorrow morning at 8.30am.

Melville Senior High School is currently offering an unique opportunity for Year 5 and 6  students to be involved in an aviation course called  “Come Fly with Me”. There are limited positions available and parents are asked to complete an application. Please click here for the form.

Please be aware that there are four DET VacSwim programs running over the summer holidays, and enrolments begin to close very soon. The VacSwim sessions are in addition to the current in-term swimming program.   There are over 180 VacSwim locations around Western Australia, so wherever families are spending these summer holidays, there will be lessons near them. Further information about fees, locations and how to enrol please visit the website.

Two reminders:

  • Year 1-3 Swimming lessons will begin Monday 8th November week 5 and run for two weeks. The permission letter is here:  swimming note.  Please return your forms before Thursday 4th November. If you’re unsure how much you have in your lump sum please give Jenni, our MCS, a call to check and possibly top it up by credit card.
  • Our P&C have a number of community events scheduled for term 4. The School Disco is scheduled for this Friday October 29th and the Parent Sundowner 12th For more details and ticket sales for both events please click here.
