I hope you had an opportunity to enjoy the sensational weather on offer throughout the holidays with many families exploring the state and reconnecting with extended family over east and overseas. I purchased a tree lopper and clear felled the olive trees, much to the displeasure of my wife as the back yard looks like a scene out of the Lorax!

We are really excited about the restrictions easing and the return of many of the programs that were disrupted over the past two years. Assemblies, incursions, and excursions are being planned to resume from Friday, starting with the ANZAC Service.  Running Club and Chess Club will also commence as well as the planned Interschool Carnival for later in the term. Our girls will be channelling their inner Sam Kerr at a soccer tournament next week.

The Early Childhood Team are planning the return of Parent Rosters, which are a perfect opportunity to be build connections with your children and observe the fantastic programs operating. Teachers will communicate operating guidelines for their classrooms, which will give parents many opportunities throughout the remainder of the year.

We have seen an increase in resilience of students walking into classrooms and getting organised for the day ahead. We need to strike a balance moving forward where parents can make appointments with teachers for interviews as it is not appropriate at the start of the day.

The P&C are also keen to kick start the year with planned activities and give the new families including Kindy Parents opportunities to meet the community. I am available to meet with Class Reps to discuss ideas.

We will need to tread cautiously over the next few months as at the time of writing we have several students and parents isolating due to being COVID positive. Masks are optional and we have adequate supplies and social distancing should be in place for assemblies and within classrooms.

The support of the School Community has been outstanding throughout first term, thank you families.
