Be Brave, Make Change
The Year One assembly kicked off our first-class items for the year and they were sensational. The theme of the assembly was Reconciliation Week which is a focus at Richmond over the next week. If you get a chance over the next few weeks have a look at our door displays, the focus is Indigenous Literature.
About National Reconciliation Week
· National Reconciliation Week is held each year from 27 May to 3 June. These dates mark two significant milestones in the ongoing journey toward reconciliation – the 1967 referendum and the 1992 High Court Mabo decision.
· 2022 marks 30 years since the Mabo decision was handed down.
· This year’s theme is Be Brave. Make Change, and encourages us all to look for actions we can take every day to help achieve reconciliation in Australia.
Busy Bee
Thanks to all families who came along to the Busy Bee last Friday to help tidy up the Kitchen Garden. A few brave participants even took on the pruning of the very old and prickly rose garden with no band aids required, which was great. Thanks goes out to the team feeding the small army and I can confirm Aoife got the ordering of sausages spot on!
