2nd December

After a thorough and competitive selection process I am extremely pleased to announce that our new Principal for 2022 will be Mr Dale Mackesey. Mr Mackesey has been a level 6 Principal at Mount Hawthorn for the past 15 years. He brings with him tremendous experience and expertise. I would like to personally congratulate him, and I am sure the entire community will welcome him. Mr Mackesey intends to visit the school next week to meet with the students, staff and community members. A huge thank you to the selection panel, particularly Lacey Filipich our board chair, in completing such an important process.

It is tremendous to see so many students enjoying our new creek located in the nature play area near the kitchen garden. The running water, rocks and logs are a huge hit. We were able to upgrade this area through funds kindly donated by Lisa O’Malley, MLA, for Bicton.

Our school board have reviewed the 2022 projected fees and charges and they have recommended no changes. This schedule outlines possible costs that parents may encounter in the year ahead. A copy of this can found on our website, please click here.

Mrs Sachman, our school uniform recycler, is asking for any donations. This valuable service ensures unwanted uniforms can find a new home. Please drop off your unwanted uniforms to the front office. Many thanks.

Please note that our DoRKs cafe will be operational tomorrow morning prior to our year 5 instrumental music assembly. Drop in and grab a coffee!

Don’t forget to book your tickets for the upcoming P&C water slides day. This takes place on Friday 10th December. For ticket sales please click here.

As you are aware, the swimming lessons for yrs 1-3 unfortunately had to be cancelled this term due to unforeseen circumstances with the Fremantle Leisure Centre roof. When the swimming lessons were cancelled, the payment was refunded directly back into the lump sum amount as a credit on your child’s account.   If you paid via bank deposit, cash or card, the amount has been also be refunded directly to your child’s account and appears as a credit. Yr6 Parents – If you would like this $11.25 directly refunded to you, donated to the school, or transferred to a younger sibling please put this in writing to jennifer.lilley@education.wa.edu.au

Please note that we will endeavour to get the refunds processed this year if requested by the middle of week 9, however due to workloads at this time of year, some refunds may have to be processed next year.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
