30 March 2021

Just a quick update as we approach Easter.

Today we are fielding a Richmond team at the inter-school swimming carnival at HBF Stadium. They are having a great day so far.

Tomorrow, we will farewell Paul Tindale, our physical education teacher.  Paul is retiring after almost 42 years in education, 27 of them at Richmond PS.  He has contributed massively to the education of hundreds of our students, who will remember him fondly and I know will join with me in wishing him all the very best.  We will really miss him on staff and hope his retirement is long and enjoyable.

The physical education position will be advertised state wide during the holidays.

On Thursday, which will be our last day for this term, we will be giving each student a centenary pin as a memento of our centenary.  We will endeavour to pin these on shirts but please could you keep an eye open for them so they don’t get mislaid.

Our chorale is busy rehearsing for our annual ANZAC assembly, which will be in the quad on the first Friday next term – 23 April – at 9.00am.  Everyone is welcome. It’s always a beautiful event.

Also coming up in the first week is the start of Edudance for year P-3.  The permission letter is here:  Edudance letter.

The first P&C event of the term will be a sundowner in the quad on Friday 30 April from 5.00pm till 9.30pm. There will be live music, food and a bar.  It’ll be adults only as it’s a licensed event. Tickets and more information are on TidyHQ.  It will be a lovely way to start the term and I hope everyone can come along.

Finally, for some light entertainment, keep your eye open today for the education supplement in the West Australian, where our year 3 students are featured talking about their family’s Easter traditions!

Happy Easter and have a happy and safe holiday. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday 20 April. Monday is a student free day for us.
