7th February 2022

Dear Parents

It is certainly nice to get some cooler weather for the start of the week after melting for most of last week. I have had a few queries about air conditioning and I can confirm all faults have been reported and have been attended to. If there are any further breakdowns temporary units will be sourced as early as possible. I also understand that as a school we will need to have a replacement program in place with more effective units purchased when funds become available in the future.

Next week both the School Board and the P&C are advertising for positions and it a great opportunity for parents to get involved with the school in a variety of ways. Please refer to the links below to nominate.

It is important that both groups are reprehensive of the school community and parent voice is heard with the overall direction of the school. I understand that both groups have made significant contributions in the past and I am looking forward to continuing the partnerships in the future.

I am happy for parents to give me a call about the roles, or I can even make you a really, cheap coffee if you want to make a time to see me.

Dale Mackesey

Principal

  • Would you like to volunteer on the school board for 2022? It’s time to nominate! Board roles are for a one-year term involving attending board training, 6-8 meetings per year, and some ad-hoc work between each meeting depending on the actions agreed. To nominate, please submit a nomination form by Thursday 10 February and plan to attend the AGM on Monday 14 February at 7pm in the Staff Room. To learn more about what the board does, refer to the board page then get in touch with Dale or one of the current board members if you have questions. Please note the board does not make operational decisions.

  • Please note that the Richmond PS P&C AGM is on the 15th of February at 7pm in the Richmond Library. Please feel free to forward this information on to anyone who is wanting to join or just come along to support our school and meet the new Principal, Mr Mackesey. The main purpose of this meeting will be to nominate the P&C positions.

The P&C is run on volunteers and a few of the key roles are needing positions filled this year. These roles will all have full support in the transition of new members and will have handovers and phone calls whenever required. If you do have interest in a position, please go to the following link https://richmondps.wa.edu.au/parents-community/pc-association/ and fill out the P&C Office Bearer Nomination before the meeting, if possible.

There is one (or two) meetings a term and we require a minimum of eight active members present for a meeting to be viable. Last year we had a wonderful turn out at each meeting and hope to continue this year.

Please note at this stage we will meet at the Library and sign in on Service WA and masks will be required at the meeting. We may move this outside or even on zoom closer to the date if required.

Warm Regards,

Amy Brunsdon

P&C Secretary
