Blog 16 November 2018

Our student art exhibition and outdoor movie night is tonight on the oval. You can find a family ticket for $12 (any size family) at https://RPSPC.TIDYHQ.COM. There will be a choice of three pizzas for sale from around 5.30pm until they run out and I think it would be best to also bring a picnic.  Student art will be on display from 3.00pm and the movie, Hotel Transylvania 3, will start at 7.15pm. It looks like being a lovely, warm evening.

Our year 6 boys have been playing at the W.A.C.A ground today in the Cricket Blast School Cup state finals. They came 4th overall in WA, which is amazing. There is a photo on Facebook. Well done boys – what an experience!

Lots of things are nearing completion in the next couple of weeks:

  • the auditions are nearly over for Richmond’s got Talent and the finalists will be announced soon by the student council;
  • the school spelling bee is drawing to a close and the year group finalists will soon be competing for the year group champion speller trophies;
  • the student councillors’ school chess competition is progressing to the final 16;
  • end of year reports are being written;
  • final excursions and activities are approaching, including boardies day and waterslides on the oval after school on Friday 7 December;
  • selection for instrumental music is down to a short list;
  • and preparations are well underway for our graduation ceremony and final assembly.

As we approach the last three weeks of the year I ask for your support please, in guiding students to be responsible and to maintain their focus so that we can break up for the summer smoothly and happily.

Thank you to the many parents who have now logged in to CONNECT, the education department’s communication system.   You can get to CONNECT via their website https://connect.det.wa.edu.au or download the CONNECT NOW APP.

Semester 2 reports will be sent home electronically using CONNECT on Wednesday 12 December, so it is important that all parents can access it.  Please do contact Lara should you experience difficulty.

Finally thank you for all the support and positive feedback about our new website.  We have had 3059 hits this week …and the phone is running hot with enrolment inquiries.

Enjoy the movie night and a sunny weekend!
