Blog 20 November 2019

This week, we have been proudly showing off our new administration building.  If you haven’t popped in yet, I’m happy to show you around. I had to smile at one small child’s description of our medical room as ‘a room for the teachers to sleep in’!

You will recall some of our students were involved in filming advertisements recently.  They look fantastic and the links are here:

Concert – the concert was cancelled the other day, but we still love this.

Sunday afternoon saw a lot of thrills and spills at the 4th annual DoRKS billycart race, the Richmond Cup.  Teams and spectators came along to see an amazing display of billy carts and cheer on their teams, and they did not leave disappointed:  “The Peregrine Falcon” took out 1st place in the slalom event, then “Death Pelican”, followed closely by “The Scallywags”. “Death Pelican” also won the longest roll, 2nd place went to “Team Buckshot LaFonk” then “Super Sumners”.  With less than one second separating the place getters in the sprint, 1st place went to “Shooting Starburst”, followed by “Death Pelican” then “The Scallywags”.

“Swoop Patrol” was voted The Most Creative Cart and Best Team Theme and “The Peregrine Falcon” was voted Best Paint job.

Thank you to Craig, Matt and Mike and to everyone who came along and gave a hand to make it such a memorable day. I posted a photo on Facebook.

At school we teach protective behaviours, and whilst we never want to alarm children, it is important that families reinforce safe practices such as walking in a group, knowing safe places, knowing what to do if they are approached.  There are copies of these practices at the office, should you wish to pick one up.

From 3.00pm today, we are having a new server installed, which unfortunately means we will be without computers until Monday morning. This will affect emails somewhat so if you do need to convey an urgent message please call us on 9438 8700.  Thanks for bearing with us over this time. It also means this is a shorter than usual blog!

Hope to see you at outdoor movie night this Friday – tickets are here: P&C movie night.
