Blog 31 January 2019

A warm welcome to 2019. I hope you have had a happy and restful break. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday 4 February at 8.45am.

We start the year with 207 boys and 204 girls, 46 staff members and over 600 parents in our school community. Welcome to the 66 new students starting this year, and to their families.  New enrolments are still coming in today. Welcome too, to our new middle-primary teacher Andrew Townsend, who we are excited to have teaching in room 7.

We will invite parents to meet with their child’s classroom teacher in the next few weeks so that you can share information. A staff list is on our website.  If your child has special health needs that we don’t know about, please could you contact the deputy principal Erika Holst-Marsh so that we can support them.

A few parents have asked for clarification about kindergarten start days: Kindergarten students in the Monday, Tuesday class will attend Wednesday next week. Students in the other class will attend Thursday & Friday next week. Thereafter the Wednesday alternates. Kindy is full time from the start, but if you feel this is not appropriate for your child please chat to the teacher about it.  Questions relating to kindy may be emailed to the teacher Catherine.Bockman@education.wa.edu.au

The canteen will be closed on Wednesday and will open as normal on Friday next week.

Please do have a look at our website and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/37Windsor/ for current information and log onto your CONNECT account during the term to read class and school notices  https://connect.det.wa.edu.au  There is a CONNECT NOW app that we recommend you download, so that you only need log in once.

If you have mislaid your emailed CONNECT password, we can easily reset and resend it to you upon request. New families will receive their password via email next week, once their children begin.

Finally, to help less privileged students, there will be boxes outside room 9  next week to collect unwanted textas, pencils, and crayons. These items will be taken to Bali and delivered to schools where the children do have not have this type of stationery.  Last year the children were so excited to receive them. Many thanks for dropping off your items.

Students all know which classroom they are in this year. If they have forgotten, please just give Lara a ring on 9339 5055.  If you have trouble getting through (our phones have static today) please email her on Richmond.PS@education.wa.edu.au  We are all really looking forward to seeing everyone happy and well rested next week.
