I hope that all parents have now received their user name and password and logged in to CONNECT, the education department’s communication system.
We will use it for teacher notices, my weekly update (formerly the newsletter) and links to events.
You can get to CONNECT via their website https://connect.det.wa.edu.au or to make life simpler, download the CONNECT NOW APP.
Semester 2 reports will be sent home electronically using CONNECT, so it is important that all parents can access it.
Our new website goes live next week. It looks fantastic and we will continue to work on it to keep it accurate and current.
Well done to our year 6 cricketers who represented the region at the Cricket Blast School Cup regional finals at Yokine yesterday. Our team won their pool and will now progress to the state finals at the W.A.C.A ground next week.
We have had a fantastic year in sport:
- We are the 2018 interschool soccer Champion School
- We won the 2018 interschool athletics Meritorious Shield (awarded to the best school on handicap)
- We won the 2018 interschool cross-country Meritorious Shield
- We have progressed to the final 8 state finalists in the 2018 W.A.C.A Woolworths Cricket Blast School Cup and will play next week.
Congratulations to the many students who have represented Richmond at these interschool events and to the many more who have participated and tried their best in our school events.
The student councillors are organising two school events that are open to all comers. First a chess competition, and second the popular Richmond’s Got Talent – both sign-up sheets are outside room 13.
Everyone is warmly invited to the P&C student art exhibition and outdoor movie night on 16 November. An information flyer is on CONNECT. Please buy your family ticket for $12 at https://RPSPC.TIDYHQ.COM. Bring a picnic and the whole family. This event is heavily sponsored by the P&C. The pizza oven will be fired up and there will be a choice of three pizzas for sale on the night until they run out. Student art will be on display from 3.00pm.
Hope you will be able to come along.
