Positive Behaviour

Be Ready | Respectful | Responsible

At Richmond Primary School, we follow a whole-school, evidence-based behaviour management approach as part of our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) program. Our three core values—be ready, be respectful, and be responsible—are integral to fostering and maintaining positive behaviours within our classrooms, school, and community, as outlined in our school-wide behaviour matrix.

We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment by explicitly teaching, modelling, and promoting expected behaviours. Our proactive approach to behaviour management includes restorative practices to help students understand the impact of their actions and to guide them in being accountable.

Staff use positive reinforcement, verbal praise, and our school-wide acknowledgment system to encourage and reward positive behaviours. Through this system, students earn bee tokens that not only celebrate individual successes but also contribute to a collective goal for the entire school.
