Crazy Hair Day is a fun event, which has been embraced by the students and staff today and will raise money for Save the Children. All the community are horrified about the events being played out in the Middle East and the loss of innocent lives on both sides of the conflict, which includes children. We are blessed to live in the safest country in the world and as a School Community we are fortunate to be able to give back to charities.
I have singled out two of our students who went above and beyond today. Shayla donated some of her birthday money after talking to her Mum this morning and Spencer shaved his hair, as well as donating to support his younger cousin who is fighting cancer. Both Shayla and Spencer have earned Aussie of Month awards for demonstrating the schools’ values.
Dear parents and guardians,
The student councillors would like to acknowledge everyone who has put their time and effort into creating such wacky hairdos for their kids. We would also like to recognise 2 outstanding students, Shayla and Spencer, who both kindly donated 50 dollars, with Spencer shaving his hair to show how much he supports the cause. If you are wondering where the donations go, they are donated to a children’s charity called ‘Save the Children’ which helps kids in the Gaza strip who currently don’t have enough money, fresh drinking water, food, and little to no child support.
We have raised a grand total of $601.55 to donate to Save the Children, and I think we’ve had lots of fun doing it!

Year 3 Zoo Excursion
On Tuesday all the year threes went to the zoo. We split up into groups and spotted some incredible animals. It was warm and sunny. At the Creature Seeker we learnt how to classify animals and where they live. Some of our favourite animals were the otters, rhinos and red panda’s. We had an amazing day.

Quiz Night
Thanks to hard working committee for the organising a great Quiz Night last Friday at the East Fremantle Tennis Club. The night not only raised valuable funds for the library refurbishment it also was a great social evening for the School Community. Special mention for the incredible third placing of the aging staff table, who’s musical knowledge stopped in the eighties. Hopefully, the event will be a regular feature on the calendar.
Colour Run
Unfortunately, due to the possibility that much needed work to restore the school oval commencing before the end of the term a decision to cancel the Colour Run was necessary. The P&C are looking at organising a Sundowner with further information communicated to the community in the next few weeks.
FoodBank
What an amazing start to this year’s Christmas food drive. We have collected 84 kgs of food so far!
