Message from Isabella and Shayla

Last night, the year 6’s had their graduation dinner. Staff, family and students were all invited to celebrate their last year at Richmond Primary School. To start the night off, everyone chatted with friends, took some photos and talked about how good we all looked. Then, we had our amazing celloists in the IMMS program perform the Pink Panther. All year 6’s had to come up with a speech which would be recorded and played through the speakers at the Swan Yacht Club, along with a slideshow of our adorable baby and child photos. The speeches had to be about our time at Richmond and what we are planning to do in the future.

After all of the amazing speeches, the violinists played Jingle Bells and had an amazing rhythm. Next up, we had the scariest part of the night. Awards! First up, was the English, then the Hass, Maths, Science, Health and Physical education, Music, Art, Civics and Citizenship and last but most definitely not least, the effort award! We had some more musical items and then parents left while students had dinner, photos, dancing and chatter then the best part, dessert! A little more chatter, photos and then it was time for the graduation songs, a slideshow about all of our time at Richmond and then lastly, the school song.

Thanks to all the staff, family and friends for joining the year 6’s for our graduation dinner. Thank you for always being there for us through thick and thin. Thank you to Mrs Button and Mr T for organising our Graduation dinner. It was an amazing night that we will never ever forget!

Final Assembly

The Graduation Assembly will be held on Wednesday 13th December and it is an opportunity for the student cohort to farewell our Graduating Year 6 Students. It is also an opportunity to recognise class award winners.

Year 6 Gift

Our graduating year raised money earlier this year and have been working with a local Noongar Artist Amanda Hart to paint a mural as a gift to the school. It has been great to observe Amanda working with small groups of students and the art will be mounted above the new bubblers.

Annual Report / Bumper Newsletter

The School Annual Report will be handed out to representative of each family next week. The publication showcases the wide range of programs in place at Richmond and reports against the Business Plan which was developed after the Public-School Review in first term. Financial compliance information will be included early in 2024.

Reports

The Semester Reports will be emailed to parents next Tuesday after 3.00 pm.

Meet the Teachers

On Thursday students will meet their next year’s class teacher. Class lists will be sent home via Connect and will not be subject to change. The class placement process has been comprehensive with teachers working collaboratively and guided by the Class Placement Policy.

Story Ballet Year 3

On Thursday all the Year 3’s went to John Curtin College of the Arts to see a ballet called Sleeping Beauty.  It was for a treat.  They had part 1, 2 and 3.  Part 1 was set in the palace and they were dancing, it was fantastic.  Part 2 was even better, that was set in the garden and park.  In part 3 they soared through the air and continued to dance beautifully.

We really enjoyed the creativity, interesting characters and the costumes.

Josie, Matilda, Teia, Noah, Harry, Ava, Everlea, Rex and Oscar.

Swimming 2024

The swimming lesson schedule is determined by the Education Department. We are pleased to inform you that our year 4-6 students have been scheduled for a 5-day series of lessons during week 2 of Term 1, from the 5th to the 9th of February.

Please be aware that a note will be sent home with your child on the first day of school. We kindly request that you return this note as soon as possible to ensure that your child is placed in the appropriate swimming class.

Transport to the Fremantle Leisure Centre will be provided by bus for the students.

Containers for Change

The green bags will be on tables next week outside the library. Please fill up the bag with your empty cans or bottles.

The bin will be emptied regularly over the holidays, so please continue to empty your bag over the break. The goal is to raise money for the grounds and gardens.  Thank you.
