The P&C is bound in its operation by the rules of the Constitution.
Under the constitution, the P&C Association President must call a minimum of one general meeting each term. Meeting dates are advertised in the schedule of school events on the school website and minutes are emailed to all general members and are available on request. All motions and financial decisions are made at general meetings, with notice given to members. The President may also choose to call executive committee meetings if required between general meetings. The executive committee runs a number of subcommittees.
The P&C focuses on building community and fundraising. Members organize community events throughout the year and welcome new ideas.
Centenary Fair: On March 21, 2021 Richmond PS will turn 100. This P&C is organising a centenary fair to celebrate on Saturday 20 March 2021. If you would like to have a stall or help in any way, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Dads of Richmond Kids: This group of dads runs a number of events each year designed to include dads in their children’s education and to build relationships between dads. The group operates under the umbrella of The Fathering Project. Events include for example a dads and kids camp; billy cart race, bike ride and bowls night.
Arts Committee: This group of parents helps with art projects around the school. Recently they have created a name plate for the canteen, helped our art teacher coordinate a banner for the Town of East Fremantle, helped the school mount exhibitions of student work and worked with us to coordinate a mosaic artist to make a name plate for the school.
Kitchen Garden: The P&C funds a paid member to run a gardening and cooking program; seed to plate, every Friday for all students to learn about growing their own food. This group of parents helps the school to run school gardening club and to maintain the kitchen garden.
Canteen: The P&C funds a manager to operate the canteen. The P&C oversees all canteen operations.
Class Parent Reps: Parent representatives in each classroom assist the P&C with events such as cake stalls, social events, leavers’ shirts, fundraising and ANZAC flowers.
School Banking program: A group of parents runs a school banking program before school on Tuesdays outside the library. The P&C oversees all school banking operations.
