Our school is located in the cultural region of Beeliar. The Beeliar district is bounded by the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River). To the local Whadjuk people, Fremantle is place of ceremony, significant cultural practices, and trading. East Fremantle was known as Niegarup, the place where the pelicans meet. This is reflected in our school emblem.
